Candelilla Wax (Euphorbia Cerifera)

Candelilla Wax is derived from the leaves of the small Candelilla shrub native to northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. These leaves produce a scale-like covering on the plant, which acts as a natural self defense mechanism against harsh heat and dry conditions. It is a vegan wax which is a great alternative to Bees wax.

The wax is incredibly beneficial for dogs with dry and cracked snout and paws  It is an excellent emollient and skin protective barrier agent to prevent the skin from loosing moisture.  It is a fast absorbing lubricant and nourishing skin conditioner, as it easily spreads over the skin’s surface. 

Main chemical composition: 

Candelilla wax is mainly made up of hydrocarbons, esters, free acids and resins.
